ABOUT

INSPIRE was established in January 2016 as a 501(c)(3) organization.  Our goal is to equip, empower, transition, and transform fathers and young men, 10 — 23 years old, into independent and self-sufficient adults through one-on-one and group mentoring of life skills.  INSPIRE was created in response to the increasing number of young fathers and young men who lack self-sufficiency skills for independent adulthood.  Our targeted mentoring program is specifically tailored for at-risk and underserved, fathers and young men.

OUR PURPOSE

  • To Transform Lives!

  • To empower future leaders with faith and integrity

  • To develop young fathers who will positively impact their families and their communities

  • To ensure that every young man who graduates from our programs will be positioned for success

OUR MISSION

Mission. To instill independence and integrity in young men and young fathers by empowering them to achieve life goals, fulfill purpose through faith, and impact hope for their future.

Vision

Each young man will be self-sufficient by championing a resilient mindset, emotional awareness and financial sustainability through applied faith and integrity.

OUR HISTORY

INSPIRE is a new and emerging 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that was incorporated in January 2016.

Prior to creating Inspire, Barbara created, developed, designed, managed, directed, and facilitated a program for grandparents and relatives who were caring for youth 18 years old or younger.  During this time, she saw many young men and women who aged out of the foster care and kinship placements with no permanent place to live. Each young person was confronted with a daunting number of adult decisions to make; from employment, college, finding safe and affordable housing, setting up utilities to finding health insurance.

Over 70% of the children in this program were African-American and Latino males.  Barbara quickly realized that these young men were deficient socially, educationally, financially and lacked basic life skills.  Fulfilling this deficit and improving the lives of the young men in our community was a goal she set out to attain.  This fueled the passion that birthed INSPIRE!

When we create better men, we create better fathers, we create better families and most importantly we create better communities!
